Positive Affirmations to Heal

What are positive affirmations? Are there negative affirmations? Why does it matter? I will attempt to help you answer these questions so you can find peace and healing of your body-mind-soul.

Thought Creates Matter

Every thought that you have is an affirmation. Whether positive or negative, every thought you have affirms what you believe about yourself and what you believe about life. These self affirmations are a reflection of you, your internal condition - your current state of mind. Every thought is usually either positive or negative, isn’t it? Seldom are your thoughts simply neutral. You often judge everything around you and everything that is happening to you.

As the world around you is bombarding you, your reactions to life’s events and the thoughts that are evoked, dictates your behaviors. It is hard to keep your thoughts neutral, when you are unable to control the events that happen around you. It is even harder to take negative thoughts and turn them into positive affirmations.

Unless you are a nun or a monk, you have chosen to live in a world in which you are reacting to stressful events. (Sometimes I think I would like to live like a nun – in a peaceful, serene setting with no outside worldly influences and stresses – at least for a week once in a while!) These events often, are perceived as negative events, that create negative, stressful responses from you.

You cannot control events, but you can control your response to the events. You can witness your thoughts, acknowledge when they are negative, and replace them with positive thoughts.

If instead you carry around negative thoughts, they then become negative affirmations that reflect your beliefs and shape your life. Instead of positive thoughts, creating affirmations, they become negative affirmations that often lead to a spiraling, downward cycle of negativity that creates illness or dis-ease in your life. Witness your tense, aching body, your migraines, your poor eating habits. All have the potential to lead to chronic illness.

Where Your Mind Goes, the Energy Follows!

But it doesn’t have to be so! You can create affirmations to heal. These are affirmations that change your internal state of being, that create health and healing of your body-mind-soul!

This is not always an easy process, but if you commit to spending quiet, reflective time, through prayer and meditation, on a daily basis, you can learn to recognize when you are negative. When you witness your negativity, you can turn it around, and instead turn your thoughts to the positive. You can create affirmations in the place of your negative ones, to create healing of your body-mind-soul.

Key Points for Positive Affirmations to Heal your Body-Mind-Soul:

  • Say the affirmations even before you believe them.
  • Say them daily.
  • Say them to yourself in the mirror, and say them with a smile and with conviction.
  • Say them in the present tense.

When you say affirmations for physical health, you will need to understand the connection of your body with your mind and soul. You must learn to bless your body with love and thank it for its messages, thank it for letting you know your inner state at the moment. You must learn to recognize the powerful influence that your thoughts, your mind have on your physical and spiritual health!

You can heal your physical body by saying positive affirmations for health. You can also manage chronic physical conditions that are hereditary, or due to chronic unhealthy lifestyle choices by saying positive affirmations for health.

The number one cause of all physical conditions is stress. This has been proven over and over again. Even if you have an irreversible medical condition, you can improve its daily affect on you, by managing your physical stress that your illness presents to you and learning to turn your negative responses to that stress, to positive ones instead. You can wallow in self-pity and affirm your negativity or you can choose to feel better by staying positive and responding to the stress of physical illness through saying positive affirmations.

If you are in pain, say the following positive affirmations to heal:

  • I breathe in the spirit of calm, peace and healing.
  • With each deep breath, I am calm and peaceful.
  • My body is calm and peaceful.
  • My ____ (fill in body part) pain is gone.
  • My ____ (fill in body part) pain is healed.

If you lack mobility in a body part due to pain, tenseness or overuse, say the following positive affirmations to heal:

  • I accept healing of my ____ (fill in body part).
  • My thoughts and energy flow towards my _____ (fill in body part).
  • I feel my _____ (fill in body part) warming up.
  • My _____ (fill in body part) is free of pain.
  • I move and flow with ease.
  • My _____ (fill in body part) moves and flows with ease.

The Power of Belief in a Power Outside of Yourself

Focus on the symptom and create, in your own words, a positive statement about that symptom. Then create a positive affirmation to heal that symptom. If you add to your positive affirmation a belief that God/the Universe has the power to heal you, studies show that this is even a more powerful technique for healing!

For example, change the above positive affirmations to the following:

  • I breathe in the spirit of calm, peace and healing from God.
  • With each deep breath, God’s calm and peace flow through me.
  • My body is calm and peaceful.
  • My ____ (fill in body part) pain is gone.
  • My ____ (fill in body part) pain is healed.

  • I accept healing from God for my ____ (fill in body part).
  • Love and energy from God flows towards my _____ (fill in body part).
  • I feel my _____ (fill in body part) warming up.
  • My _____ (fill in body part) is free of pain.
  • I move and flow with ease.
  • My _____ (fill in body part) moves and flows with ease.

Just choose today, to re-create yourself, recreate your energy and re-create your life. You can do it through the power of belief. You can become a positive person, despite the stress and illness in your life. You can heal your body-mind-soul if you make a commitment to yourself to do so! May your new journey toward positive affirmations begin!
